Hold On for One More Day

The reality is, most all of us can make it one more day. It just doesn’t always feel that way — the day before. That is why you always have to have or are working on building in the slightest inkling.

What the real question is, how can we build in a little hope for someone else today? We all have that opportunity, even if we are not sure about everything ourselves.

Sometimes, you really just have to be there. You have to be a real person that has felt the same real things, and you are willing to admit it. A person that has been there in life — which we have all done that. It is actually not always good to be really positive all the time. Sometimes, you really just need someone to say, you know what, this sucks. I have definitely been there. But, what I do know is this, EVERYTHING is temporary — the good and the bad. You just kind of gamble on that there is more good than bad.

When you get over the fact that there will be a little bad, you will most likely realize you have way more good than you even thought about. The saying “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure” gets thrown around a lot, and it is so true. We often times take our friends and family for granted. Since we have always had it, it is always there.

It is always a blessing to me when someone else joins. Everyone is always welcome.

Most importantly, when you are “holding on,” never be afraid. You have two options at that point — stay in a corner and do nothing or do everything. The potential returns of “do everything” are much greater. No one ever wins when they are afraid.

Pro Tips:

  1. I was about 17 years old when I was running my karaoke business, which was about 1 year old at that point. I thought there was an issue with one of the venue owners I was working for. My mom went to almost every single karaoke gig. I remember when I brought up the potential issue and she had these words of wisdom, which I have been spreading ever since: “You did not hire them. They hired you.” Meaning, you hired me for a reason. You can’t do it. If you don’t like the work, hire someone else. I have always had repeat clients.
  2. Sometimes you just need someone to cook for you. You don’t even know what it tastes like yet, but the fact that someone recognizes you just need to be “cooked for” at that moment means enough. Chile Colorado may just be the thing that makes the medicine go down.
  3. We can’t live without people. Sometimes, it can be no less than seven people that get you through your day. And, sometimes, all you need is that one person.
  4. We all have plenty of acquaintances, but we get most excited and upset about our real friends. Some people have none. Hold them close.
  5. Let your friends know you are thinking about them.
  6. To lighten it up, buy some Birthday Cake granola. I ran into someone sometime that liked this and it was really good, but it ended up being BOGO this week, so I splurged.
  7. Does Escapade by Janet Jackson ever get old?
  8. U.S. Poultry consumer wing sales are the highest during the Super Bowl and Memorial Day seasons — by a lot. The stats consistently show it. It’s interesting that two single events could have that much impact on a whole country’s market. Consider that in all of your business dealings.

We are all just trying to hold on for one more day. If you get this one, I’ll get the next one…and we will all make it — together.
